Meet Dr. Siegert
I am a female general surgeon in a solo-physician, small office environment providing general surgical and advanced laparoscopic procedures to adults and adolescents over 12 years old. I feel that the size of the office allows more time for interaction between the patient and physician, which is sometimes lacking from today's health care. This allows for more individualized and personal care.
With a friendly staff, patients' questions and concerns are responded to quickly and professionally. Good communication with other physicians involved in your care also provides better continuity of care. We are respectful of the individual's needs and of family concerns.
Undergoing an invasive procedure such as surgery can often be confusing and associated with anxiety. Listening to patients and educating patients are important parts of reducing this stress. I try to aid patients in understanding their surgical options and what will happen to them before, during, and after surgery. The scheduling of your surgery is done as promptly as your medical condition requires.
I am a Board-Certified General Surgeon with a special interest in advanced laparoscopic procedures. I graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed my general surgery residency at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. Advanced laparoscopic fellowship training was done under the direction of Brown University at Rhode Island Hospital. I have been in practice since 2001, and I am affiliated with Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina.
